Craig Campbell — 25 Years in SEO | Craig Campbell Marketing

Who you’re dealing with

Twenty-five years, no filter.

The person doing the work, not a case study lifted from a pitch deck.

On stage at SEO Vibes Summit — one of a long run of conference talks

Craig started in 2001, working from home, and went on to run his own marketing agencies out of Glasgow. Along the way he’s built a large following teaching SEO in public — free courses, YouTube, podcasts and conference stages across the UK and abroad — on the basis that showing your work is better marketing than talking about it.

He’s known in the industry for saying the unpopular thing when it’s the true thing. In 2026 he picked up the Voice of SEO award at Masterminders in Manchester for exactly that.

The reason this agency exists in its current form: rankings and clicks stopped being the hard part. Handling what arrives is. So the work moved to building systems that catch, qualify and convert the attention — with AI doing the repetitive middle.

“Your website is still the number one way to improve AI inclusion. Do the fundamentals well and iterate on top.”

How it started

Two decades, in short.

2001

First site, first ranking

Started doing SEO from a spare room, at a point when most businesses hadn’t heard the term.

2005–2018

Building agencies

Ran his own marketing agencies out of Glasgow through more algorithm updates than most people in the industry have seen — Panda, Penguin, and everything since.

2010s–now

Teaching in public

Built a large following teaching SEO for free — YouTube, podcasts, courses — on the basis that showing your work is better marketing than talking about it.

2026

Voice of SEO, Masterminders

Recognised for saying the unpopular thing when it’s the true thing, at Masterminders in Manchester.

Now

Craig Campbell Marketing

Twenty-five years of SEO, now wired into paid ads, AI qualification and automation — because ranking and clicks stopped being the hard part.

Why this exists

Rankings stopped being the hard part.

Most businesses that come to us can already get found, at least to some degree. The problem is what happens after someone lands: enquiries sit unanswered, follow-up depends on one person remembering, and nobody can say which marketing actually produced last month’s best customer. That’s the gap Craig Campbell Marketing exists to close — with AI doing the repetitive middle, and a human reviewing everything that reaches a customer.
